2D&3D Animator produces high-quality images, titles, banner ads and buttons for your Web page or for a presentation. 
It comes with an object-oriented design interface that enables you to edit graphics, manipulate text and layers (graphic animations), apply special effects, and then compile the animated graphic all from within the same program. You can add shadow to object, make it glow, and draw it with opacity. Further add cool deformation, transition and color adjustment effects.

You can create animations from your own pictures (JPG, GIF, BMP, AVI, ICO, PNG) and add 3D text and shapes. In addition to font size and color, you can use colored lighting, textures and more. The layers technology helps to control over the object's placement, size, motion, and appearance.

The ready-made templates make the product easier to use. You can choose one of several ready-made templates for banners, buttons or logos. Once you select a template, you can begin to alter it any way you want. By double clicking on objects you bring up tool bars and options.

To cut loading time for your visitors, have the program optimize your graphic by removing extraneous material. Once finished, output may be exported as GIF or AVI clips as well as JPEG, ICO, PNG or Bitmap images.

You can open as many files in EditPad at a time as you want. 
You change between the open files by clicking on their tabs. No hassle with heaps of overlapping windows. 
You will enjoy EditPad's unlimited undo and redo. You can even undo changes after saving them, as long as you did not close the file. 
EditPad reads and writes UNIX (LF only) and Mac (CR only) text files (in addition to DOS/Windows CR+LF files, of course). 
With EditPad you can directly edit Unicode text files and text files encoded in a variety of legacy code pages. EditPad supports all Windows and ISO-8859 code pages, plus a wide selection of DOS, KOI8 and EBCDIC code pages. This means EditPad can edit any text file, whether it was saved on a Windows or Linux computer, an old DOS PC or an IBM mainframe. 
If you run EditPad again when there is already an instance running, the file(s) you wish to edit will be opened by the existing EditPad window. This means there will be at most one EditPad window open, which will save you from a lot of task switching.
Of course, if you do need more instances, simply pick View|New editor from the menu. 
Block functions: save parts of your text to disk and insert a file in the current text. 
You can specify many print settings: font, margins, headers/footers, etc. and immediately see the effects in the print preview. 
You have the option to keep the EditPad window on top of all other windows. 
When you close an unsaved file, EditPad will either warn you, automatically save the file as you prefer. 
Reopen menu that lists the last 16 files opened. 
EditPad puts an icon in the system tray that remains visible, even if EditPad is closed. This way you have easy and fast access to EditPad, without the need to keep it running all the time. If you do not like this, you can, of course, disable this feature and make EditPad behave like a normal Windows application. 
EditPad fully supports double byte character systems (DBCS) so you can edit texts written in Far East languages, such as Chinese, Japanese or Korean, as easily as those written in European languages. 
Many settings such as word wrap, line numbering and auto indent can be made for each file type individually. You could activate word wrap but not auto indent when editing a plain text file, and just the other way around when editing source code. You can also define your own file types which will be used to build the filters for open and save dialog boxes. 
Configure EditPad's appearance to your own taste and eyesight. Select the colors, font face and font size that you like. Make text cursor highly visible by selecting its size, color and blinking style. Make the mouse pointer easy to spot by choosing its shape and colors.

Ultimate Paint is a full-featured 32-bit Windows graphics program for image creation, viewing and manipulation. GIMP Open Source Editing Suite

GIMP is an acronym for GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed program for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring.

It has many capabilities. It can be used as a simple paint program, an expert quality photo retouching program, an online batch processing system, a mass production image renderer, an image format converter, etc.

GIMP is expandable and extensible. It is designed to be augmented with plug-ins and extensions to do just about anything. The advanced scripting interface allows everything from the simplest task to the most complex image manipulation procedures to be easily scripted.

GIMP is written and developed under X11 on UNIX platforms. But basically the same code also runs on MS Windows and Mac OS X.

Paint.NET is free image and photo editing software for computers that run Windows. It features an intuitive and innovative user interface with support for layers, unlimited undo, special effects, and a wide variety of useful and powerful tools. It started development as an undergraduate college senior design project mentored by Microsoft, and is currently being maintained by some of the alumni that originally worked on it. Cream for Vim - Making Vim more user friendly
Learning to use Vi editor could be a real pain for most people as it has a relatively steep learning curve. But once the most common commands are mastered, one gets to enjoy the sheer power of this editor made available at ones finger tips. And there are an ever growing group of Vi enthusiasts around (myself included) who swear by it over other text editors. The modern avatar of Vi is Vim (VI iMproved) created by Bram Moolenaar and released as an open source software package. VIM is an excellent vi clone with a slew of additional features and which can be further enhanced and modified using scripts. On last count there are 1557 scripts available at the Vim.org website which enhances the editor for a variety of uses.

One project which has gained a lot of popularity in the Vim community is Cream. Cream consists of a collection of scripts and plug-ins which aims to make it much more easier for a new user to cut his teeth in Vim and the user can easily use most of the features of Vim which has made it the popular editor it is by just navigating the menu.
